Where to eat Thanksgiving in Miami

Calling all Miami Hounds--
My husband and I are hoping to have a memorable meal in Miami on Thanksgiving Day.
It doesn't need to be traditional, but does need to be special. A good wine list would be a plus.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

    1. Caffe Abracci in Coral Gables will be serving Thanksgiving dinner.

        1. OpenTable has a list of places doing special Thanksgiving menus ->
          http://www.opentable.com/promo.aspx?m=17&ref=551&pid=1

But if you just check their regular search function it appears many restaurants are taking reservations for Thanksgiving (and many are not). Generally speaking, hotel restaurants will be a better bet to be open.

One place that always does good holiday menus is North One 10 in Miami Shores.

They also have a very solid wine list.

Talula on Miami Beach is also showing on OpenTable as open Thanksgiving (I would call just to make sure) and it's one of my favorites.

Bourbon Steak in Aventura also shows as open, another great restaurant with one of the deeper wine lists in town. I believe they're doing a Thanksgiving menu but I don't see it on the website.

Neomi's in Sunny Isles (in the Trump Hotel) is doing a Thanksgiving menu. I have been here for some special "modern cuisine" dinners and have not eaten at the regular restaurant, but the guys can cook.

I didn't love my last meal at the revamped Chef Allen's but I have enjoyed his holiday tasting menus in the past. I also think the children's tasting menu is a nice touch although I suspect it's pricey for children. They will email you the updated wine list.

                2. Azul @ the Mandarin Oriental is very good -- great food / wine list, service, atmosphere -- the Biltmore Hotel usually has a really good Thanksgiving too.

                    1. Smith and Wollensky in South Beach has a traditional Thanksgiving menu as well.

I too would recommend the Biltmore for Thanksgiving. It's going to be pricey but it's going to be very, very good. You can't beat the atmosphere, the grounds and everything that is The Biltmore.

The Regent Bal Harbour is having a wonderful Thanksgiving buffet all day and evening. I saw the menu and it looks great. We'll be there enjoying. The setting on the ocean couldn't be more beautiful and as an extra bonus Mark will be cooking.

Yep, I went to the Biltmore a few years back and everything was incredible -- really one of the best places in Miami if you don't mind the price.

Another place that just opened which is offering Thanksgiving is Gotham Steak @ the Fountainbleau Hotel... $100 /person.

                                  • Special would be Aquos at the Four Seasons (Brickell Avenue) $80 and Traditional would most likely be Whitney's at the Dadeland Marriott $39.50.

Dinner last night at the Regent Hotels Thanksgiving Day buffet was all that we expected and more. They had everything on the buffet from stone crabs and shrimp and about a dozen salads to choose from. There were 3 different soups offered, loads of breads and rolls, gravlox, and smoked fish. On the carving station they were slicing fresh oven roasted turkeys, a rack of pork, venison roast, and sirloin of beef sliced to order. They also had two different salmon dishes. There were 2 home made pastas, vegetables and rice. Dessert was a large table covered with pastries of all kinds.

The diningroom was filled when we arrived at 5, and it stayed quite busy until we left at about 7:30.
