Dim Sum places in Fairfield County?

nbermas' excellent duck query put this question in mind. I'm indifferent to web-footed fowl, but crazy about dim sum.

Many moons ago in Chinatown, the Chinese speaking help would deliver the dishes one pointed to in the glass cases, then count the plates at meal's end and charge appropriately, and ridiculously low, as I recall.

This being Fairfield, I don't expect cheap, but good would be nice.

Hunan Spring in Glenbrook. A little dive but great food. Helps if you know your stuff and don't just order basics off menu

What do you recommend from their dim sum menu? The feedback I've gotten has been primarily negative on Hunan, but maybe people weren't ordering the right stuff?

cannot verify good or bad on quality but Taste of Asia in New Canaan serves Dim Sum on Sundays.

      Adamclyde have you been?

no, I haven't. So I should reserve judgement for FF county, I suppose. How is Taste of Asia otherwise?

there are 3 asian restairants in town and jfood normally goes to the other 2. The owner of ToA is one of the great men in FFD county and watches out for the kids in town. The menu has been revamped in the last few months as well.

sorry, but there is simply no dim sum worth writing about anywhere in Fairfield County. Closest is Aberdeen in White Plains.

Oh how I wish that weren't the case.

Well then, it looks like a trip to the city is in order.

I'm long overdue for a trip to Chinatown.

          Thank you.

Flushing in Queens has several excellent dim sum places, and is much easier to get to than the Chinatown in Manhattan. The Outer Boroughs board has some good posts. It's less than 40 minutes from Stamford.
