Aaron's Best Whole Turkey

Duker52 Nov 19, 2008 03:19 PM

Does anyone know if Aaron's Best Whole Turkey is sold anywhere in the DC area? It was rated best by Cooks Illustrated and I'd like to try one.

Try the kosher markets in the MD suburbs or ask on the Kosher Board.

I wonder if ATK included Empire in their tests. They are also kosher birds and I know their chickens are really outstanding. I would guess their turkeys are as well. Should be available at kosher stores and Wegman's.

As well as McGruders ($1.89/lb last weekend at Kemp Mill), Giant, Shoppers, and the other chain markets.

Really at Giant? That could be great news, as we are traveling down to Northern VA Christmas weekend and I would love to cook an Empire turkey. I could have my daughter buy it in advance. Very hard to find where I am (NJ) Only Wegmans or a kosher place.

Giant has frozen Empire turkeys advertised in today's Jewish Week at $2.49/LB and fresh Empire turkeys at $3.19/l, but they may not be available in all stores. Of course, there are at least three Wegman's in Northern VA as well.
