Jfood returns to Corner Table - Thank You Very Much

Sometimes eating simple plain flavors is a fantastic way to spend 90 minutes. And tonight Jfood had a delightful meal at Corner Table (45th & Nicolette).
He arrived after a grueling day, book and blackberry in hand, just looking for a good meal in a neighborhood setting and chat with Mrs. Jfood back east. When he arrived he was asked if he would like to sit at a table or the bar. Initially he chose a table but it was a little isolated, so he gathered his stuff and moved to the bar. This was the first good decision of the meal. At the bar he could watch the kitchen through the pass through.
The server arrived, described the specials and both the pasta and chicken entrees sounded fantastic. Since he really wanted to try the Ravioli with three milk robiola cheese, persillade and olive oil he chose the chicken as his entrée.
The ravioli arrived and they were simple elegant. Very thin (not overstuffed) with the persillade spread ever so slightly across the top. Upon cutting the cheese oozed slowly onto the plate. The first taste brought a huge smile to Jfood as the cheese was a delightful pungent brie quality flavor. The pasta itself had a good bite to the texture and was a nice background to the cheese. Jfood one suggestion would be a slightly thinner roll on the pasta as it did somewhat overshadowed the pungentness of the cheese. Jfood rates this dish a strong 8.
The chicken was a simple combination of pan-roasted with cauliflower, pumpkin and a mild mustard sauce. The chicken was cooked to the exact doneness Jfood loves (probably 165 degrees) and remained moist throughout. The pumpkin and cauliflower were soft and crunchy, respectively and the three flavors together, combined with the simple mustard sauce gave an incredibly relaxing earthiness to the dish. Jfood rates this dish a 9.
The server was great as well. Nothing off, no airs, no attitude, just a friendly helpful addition to a great evening.
So Jfood thanks Corner Table for a great and relaxing meal.
Thanks for the great review. I love this place as a go-to neighborhood place, especially as the menu changes so often I never have to worry about being bored. We were just there last week, and CG had the ravioli. The menu has already changed since our visit, but the duck breast special was outstanding.
