Suggestions for a laid back lunch spot near Olympic & La Brea

Anyone have a great suggestion for a lunch spot near Olympic & La Brea? Something laid back and maybe outdoor seating?

  1. there are a few places in the area that you might consider.
"Bloom" on Pico is minutes away and has good salads, sandwiches, eggs etc.
Go north on La Brea and there is a decent Japanese Izakaya called Sake House ( but no outdoor seating).
We also found a fabulous new Korean BBQ place on Wilshire near Highland I think it's called Genwa(?) which is a hidden gem.
Finally there's a brand new Cuban place just opened on Pico very near La Brea. Can't vouch for it but looks like the real deal : )

    Hope that helps.

I second Bloom cafe (Pico & Sierra Bonita), and there's La Maison du Pain on Pico (and Ridgeley) as well, but avoid the Cuban place at all costs. It's really, really bad. There's also Sky tacos across from La Maison du Pain which I've never tried. There's also C&J diner, about a block West of Ridgeley, on Pico. All these places have outdoor seating, and there's also Luna Park on La Brea and Wilshire.

Wow, this is the first mention of Sky Taco that I've seen in years. It is a very casual stand with some seating, and orders are cooked up individually. At least that's how it used to be -- i'll confess i haven't been there recently. i had forgotten the place, but what i do remember is pretty positive. fresh, hot, prepared to order, good value, I recall some good carne asada nice and hot from the flattop supplemented with a large portion of add-ons and garnishes like lettuce and tomato.

    2. cube on la brea might be a choice for laid back cuisine...
