Norfolk Happy Hour

alsky Nov 18, 2008 05:10 PM

Dear fellow hounds-
I'm sad to report that one of my favorite local restaurants--Bobbywood--has closed. This has not only left me sad, but also without a good place to go for happy hour. We loved to go during happy hour when they offered 1/2 price appetizers and drink specials. What a great place--loved the food, drinks, and the atmosphere. Bobbywood will be missed!

Does anyone have any other good recs for a similar experience? Perhaps a restaurant with a similar atmosphere and some happy hour specials? I was thinking about The Bistro, but I don't know much about their specials, etc. Does anyone know or have any ideas? Thanks!

The wine house has a daily tasting from 5-6:30 every day except sunday for $15. You pick whether you want to taste red or white wines and they keep 'em coming the entire time! I loved sampleing the wines and the staff is very knowlegable...food prices aren't on special, but the wine makes up for it in my book! On sundays they also have 1/2 price dinner entrees...these are ok, but nothing to write home about.

I'm a big fan of Empire Bistro, but the prices aren't quite as appetizing as Bobbywood's were... Also, Todd Jurich's, when the happy hour items are available, otherwise it's overpriced.

McCormick & Schmick's has a great HH -- plenty of food and drink specials. Both of excellent quality.
