Best Caesar Salad at CoffeeBar

Yup, at Coffee Bar. Actually, all their food is great. But this salad, while perhaps not totally traditional, was the highlight. Chopped romaine, a ton of shaved parmesan, nice croutons, a non-creamy lighter but tasty dressing, and a heap of white anchovies. Yum!!

And everything else was good too: a salumi plate and a cheese plate. Both with good accompaniments and tasty bread, especially the foccacia with the salumi. Oh yeah, and their Kenya AA single origin espresso in a machiatto. A great ending.

  1. That salad sound great. Could you tell us what city (or part of SF) Coffee Bar is located in?

      Could this be it?

      Coffee Bar
1890 Bryant St, San Francisco, CA 94110

Despite the address, it's actually around the corner from Bryant Street if I recall, so it's easy to miss driving by. There's a courtyard in the front, with a big bbq drum (I think?) along with other mysterious looking gear. No idea what they use it for. Inside it looked more set up for dining then sipping coffee actually.

        2. That's good to hear. I used to work in the 'hood and really liked the people at Coffee Bar (and the beautifully designed space) but never settled on really liking anything on their menu.

Their morning pastries are lovely and well-selected, though.

          1. not to be a total hater but the caesar in question is not really remarkable
then again i didnt get no anchovies

stick to the coffee and pastries
