Panes at Panaderia Universal on Mission?

I finally made it in to this bakery on Mission just past 30th. I've walked by many times and it always seems to be filled with people. I just picked up a couple of rolls, but I did check out the handwritten menu on the wall. One of the items is panes with chow mein?! What is a pane and how does the chow mein fit in? Most people were eating eggs with black beans, which looked really good. Anyone been to this place?
