TatyanaG Nov 18, 2008 09:25 AM

I need a recommendation for an expensive French, Italian or American restaurant for 3 business people who enjoy great food. I am not a local so please help!

When? If you have time, get a reservation at Vetri (I believe they reserve tables a month in advance). If not, go to Osteria.

Also in the event you can't get Vetri/Osteria, what kind of environment do you prefer - quiet, hip, etc?

Not hip (3 guests are in their 60's). Quiet.

My first thought would be Lacroix at the Rittenhouse Hotel, fancy, great service, quiet, and out-of-this-world food.

If my first choice was Vetri/Osteria and I couldn't get in, I'd go to James. Chef is a Vetri alum, service and food are excellent and restaurant is comfortable and not too noisy.

Agree, Vetri first choice, Lacroix second choice. You won't be disappointed with either choice.

I agree with both Lacroix and Vetri. Other great options especially for the age group would be Brasserie Perrier, The Fountain, 10 Arts, Estia or XIX.

Was able to make an 8:30pm reservation at Vetri. Thanks everyone for your help!
