Where to buy turkey breast, thighs in South OC?

EclecticEater Nov 17, 2008 01:40 PM

I'm making the Bittman style turkey for Thanksgiving and want to buy just breasts and thighs, not a whole bird. Suggestions, please, about where to buy them so they're good, tasteful and reasonably priced?

Is there a Whole Foods in your area? Last year I did turkey parts instead of a whole turkey. Legs, thighs, wings were incredibly low priced, especially considering it was Whole Foods. But the breast was really pricey. I probably ended up spending more than I would have on a whole bird, but at least I didn't have to spend all day cooking it :)

A few years ago, I bought a lot of turkey parts at Gelson's in Newport.

I have bought them at the Gelson's in Monarch Beach located at PCH and Crown Valley.

Of all places, I found them at Staley Brothers Markets which sells turkey breast and a nice thigh and it's very reasonable.
