I need RAW HONEY asap.

  • 7

Hi! Does anyone know where I can buy raw honey in Manhattan? Raw honey is unpasteurized. It is not what you get in the supermarket and is more expensive. I would like to buy it in person without having it shipped to me. Anyone know specifically where? I checked the Greenmarket Journal but it doesn't seem like anyone there sells honey at all. I really want to get some today (Monday) or tomorrow if possible!

Farmers definitely sell raw honey at the Greenmarket....Try Andrew's Local, Berkshire Berries, Tremblay Apiaries, etc. The Union Square Greenmarket is pretty small on Mondays, though. I think Berkshire Berries is there Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I think Andrew's is only Wednesdays. Tremblay Apiaries is only Fridays.

    1. Tremblay Apiaries is definitely only at Union Square on Fridays, they're in Inwood on Saturdays.

      1. Did you try any health food stores like Health Nuts, Whole Foods in the 90s on Bway (not affilitated with the National Chain) or Westerly Market on 8th Ave in the lower 50s?

        1. If you're downtown, try Integral Yoga Institute's health food store on W. 13 bet. 7th and 8th Avenues., almost to 8th. They usually have it.

          1. Besides Union Square Greenmarket, I think I have seen it in Dean and Deluca.

            1. OH! It's not local (which may be the point) but I picked up some delicious raw rosemary honey from Italy at the Italian shop in Chelsea Market. Forget what it's called.

              1. The Blue Ribbon Market in the West Village (http://www.blueribbonrestaurants.com/...) has raw Mexican honey that is out of this world.
