Tough area. If at lunch, best to walk east to Jarvis and the St. Lawrence Market. Otherwise, the Marche in BCE place is decent if not crowded and expensive. Good Rosti with pork cutlet.

Takesushi's not bad. If you're willing to go over to Church St., Le Papillon still makes a good onion soup and a pretty nice salad. Don't laugh, but I've had decent mussels at the Irish Embassy. It's just pub grub, but perhaps slightly classier fare.

Close by there are a few good options. I like the frites, duck pate, and mussels at Le Papillon. The bartender makes a nice cesaer as well. I would recommend this place for a nice meal that won't break the bank. The decor is nice as well.
If you cannot find anything closer, there is always Terroni on Adelaide for a great woodoven pizza. Worth the walk if thats what you are in the mood for.

Lots of options if you're up for a 5 or 10 minute walk. Not sure if you're looking for lunch or dinner options, or what price ranges, so here's a heap of random suggestions:

Walking north, there is the aforementioned Irish Embassy, and a bit further, the Beer Bistro near King & Yonge.

Waking northeast you could hit the strip of restaurants along Wellington / Colborne, where there is the Irish Embassy's quieter (and in my opinion, better) sister pub P. J. Obrien's. Clustered along there are also upscale options like Lucien, Trevor, and Colborne Lane. Opinions vary, but I have a guilty affection for Hernando's Hideaway for completely inauthentic but tasty Cali-Mex: stuff like hard-shelled tacos, chimichangas, burritos, chili con carne, etc.

Walking east along Front, there is the Hot House Cafe at Front and Church, with a huge menu and above average food and ridiculously popular all-you-can-eat buffets on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Across Front street from there is the somewhat hit-and-miss C'est What pub with excellent beers and less-excellent food.

Walking southeast there is the Esplanade pub strip, where you will find Scotland Yard, the Bier Markt, and a pretty decent Fionn McCools pub chain location. And finally, right by there is the Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar and his new Church St. Cafe.
