<content>Hidden, because it's tucked in the lower level of the St. Paul Hotel. M Street Cafe. Brought clients here yet again for lunch and was not disappointed. The St. Paul Hotel restaurant is very, very nice, but too loud for business. M Street is perfect.

It has a nice sandwich menu - favorites are grilled ham and cheese and cup of soup, MSt Grilled cheese and The Fried Egg Sandwich. Ingredients are top notch. For instance, in the grilled ham they use nice shaved slices of black forest ham and smoked gruyere for the cheese, and the fried egg sandwich has an excellent white cheddar cheese.

The sideboards are also wonderful - very fresh ingredients, and the fruit isn't rock hard, like you sometimes see in Minnesota this time of year! They have two - one with salads, fruits and soup, the other with carved meat, another entree (usually something like shrimp and garlic risotto), potato and vegetables. You can order one or both. They list the sideboad carved meat special online now, so if you can you can plan in advance. During our recent lunch they had carved strip loin - nicely seasoned, tender, medium rare in middle portion of the roast they were slicing, served with a light creamy horseradish sauce. The green beans were crisp, as I like them, and the carrots were served whole with a bit of the greens on top - perfectly tender. And they were not swimming in butter, which I appreciated.

I highly recommend this place. You can get alcoholic beverages if you like. I like the fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade, and they also have good strong coffee. The servers are seasoned. Prices reasonable for a nice lunch. A great place to bring clients who prefer really good food over flash.
