Absinthe in Brooklyn?

The BF and I haven't tried absinthe yet, but there's no time like the present. Where do you go for absinthe, either classically with the sugar cube or in cocktails? I've cross-posted this in Manhattan, but Brooklyn would be better so we can stagger home afterwards.

  1. They have it at Hotel Delmano in Williamsburg. The place is really cute but I have had problems with the service provided by cocktail waitresses, especially in the back room. I'd recommend going on an off night and sitting at the bar or front room.

At Puffys Tavern in TriBeCa they have had a drink called the separator because "it separates your mind from your body" - and it did just that. Puffy's Tavern 81 Hudson Street at Franklin.

I have had the absinthe at Hotel Delamano. The fountain in fact. Really fun and tasty. They probably have one for two people (we had four). No problem with the service that time, but do agree the cocktail waitresses there are less than par.

      2. At Fluties that had a great one right before all those hillbillies went blind.

        1. it's available to purchase at lenell's i believe.

Most cocktail bars have it for mixing. WeatherUp on Vanderbilt has an absinthe fountain and a few different brands (of the allowed imports, I'm partial to Pernod - their absinthe, not their pastis.) The bearded bartender at Clover Club on Smith makes one of the best Sazerac's I've ever had, and uses absinthe instead of Herbsaint.
