Murray's Salumi

Checked out the new Murray's Salumi in Grand Central Market. Unlike the cheese where they are clearly the dominant player, there are too many other specialty charcuterie places in the city (thank God) which have a wider selection and are more knowledgeable. (DiPalo and Despana for starters). Having said that, the Surryano ham from Surry Farm in Virginia was a really interesting smokier (and cheaper) alternative to the jamon iberico.

  1. Picked up some speck and a few other meats last week. Like most places in that market it's designed for GCT commuters first, and foodies second. Nothing wrong with that; just be aware that that's what it is.

    I'm pretty sure they're still giving people free bacon or hot dogs with any $10 purchase.
