Torrance / South Bay Area Local Gems please

An OC hound, I've moved to the Torrance/South Bay area. I'm hoping the locals can help me identify your local favorites. Please share your gems with another hound.

This is a good blog even though it has not been updated for a while

Spoon House in Gardena for Japanese/Italian make sure you get the dollar salad and be sure to get the coffee jelly with ice cream and the coffee ice for dessert.

Since we have a new President who enjoys his grindz as much as anyone, here are 2 sites.

    1. I've compiled a list of "best of" lists that refer to the general South Bay area, specific parts of the South Bay, particulary types of dishes or ethnic foods, or some places you might just find of interest in general. By no means is this a complete list of lists; rather, some posts that should get you more familiar with names and places that are worth consideration.

You might already know that the South Bay has lots of ethnic eats, particularly Japanese, but a growing number of Chinese, Korean, and even a couple of well-regarded Pakistani places. Peruvian is another cuisine that comes to mind in the South Bay. A fair amount of Hawaiian grindz to supply all the expats from our beloved 50th state can be found as well.

I've added links to places that I've enjoyed or have at least gotten some nods from other posters.

        WOW. Nice work!

        1. re: luhkee

Posts with these kinds of requests are numerous. I thought it might be helpful to compile other lists on to this one so when others ask something similar, some sort of master list can be referred to. Hopefully others will feel free to do the same, or add more particular favorites... :)

        2. re: bulavinaka

Thanks for such a great reply! Sorry for my delay in getting back to you. Mea culpa.

        3. Gina Lee's Bistro in Redondo Beach for a nice dinner out. Located in a strip mall on Palos Verdes Blvd. in Riviera Village, but don't be fooled by the exterior. Very friendly owners and good quality for the price. Seafood is excellent, but they have Asian/American food as well.
          Reservations needed on weekends.
