Brunch is wonderful at Commander's!! It is a three course package. You should try the Shrimp and Tasso Henican or Eggs Sardou both are appetizers. For your main course you should order the Eggs Opelouses or Cochan de lait eggs. All the desserts are great, but the best is the Bread Pudding!!!!!!

Just want to say what a lovely time we had at Commander's. The service is so wonderful and friendly. The chef came out and asked us how we were enjoying the meal. and where we were from. We told him we were in NO for a large wedding....he sincerely said, "thank you for coming". Everyone we've met here has been so warm and friendly. We've had great meals and enjoyed walking around. I hope more people come to New Orleans soon. The economy here could use a boost. New Orleans really is a little jewel,

        Hi DaisyM,
I'm headed to New Orleans on Monday morning. What were your favorite dishes at Commander's? I'm headed to New Orleans on Monday, and having lunch there on Thursday. Would love to hear what your favorites were!

I had pecan crusted red fish with crabmeat. Wonderful! My husband had gumbo and bbq shrimp with grits and pecan pie. He said they were the best he's ever had. I had an appetizer of a poached egg over an artichoke heart with an artichoke sauce...fantastic. We also had bloody Marys that were served with frozen vodka. And yes...I think I've gained 10 lbs this weekend.

Last time we went (September of 07) we had the soup trio, parmesan crusted oysters, a duck salad (I think - but now I don't see that on the menu), bbq shrimp, filet, and bread pudding souffle. Everything was wonderful.

Oops you said brunch. Maybe Chowhound will delete this for me.
