al di la is open for lunch
I just got back from a short trip and discovered, to my delight, that al di la is now open for lunch. I was passing by around 1 o'clock and saw a bunch of people eating. Sure enough there was a lunch menu in the window. Many of the restaurant's classics are on the menu and a few new dishes I haven't seen before. What a great addition to lunchtime in Park Slope.

very interesting.
it'd be great if they did a brunch on the weekends.

here's hoping they never go to "brunch" status. i like having a "normal" lunch menu. never skip the wild mushrooms on polenta!

Finally! I am often in that area around lunch time and although there are many options I have always wished for Al Di La to be open.

Thanks for the heads up. We went today and had a great experience. Word hasn't gotten out yet either-- we got there around 12:30 and there were only three other tables the entire time. The menu offers mostly lunch items, but there are a couple of egg dishes that would appeal to someone looking for brunch. An egg affogato dish (drowned in tomato) sounded wonderful, but I couldn't say no to the lasagna.

We were there on Sunday, too. I had the soup with greens and kidney beans. So simple, but amazingly good. It's such a nice vibe during the day--very relaxed, people reading the paper. Not the mad bustle of the dinner crowd.

yep, I was there last week on Thursday. The menu is quite truncated from the dinner menu, but still plenty of yummy stuff to be had. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have the malfatti or the beet raviolis (as I had a friend with me from out of town, and had been raving to her about the malfatti.) But she was perfectly happy with the butternut squash tortellini and I with wild mushrooms and swiss chard over creamy polenta.... Only a few other tables taken, but I imagine the word will be out now!
