Midtown East - need some good chicken parm
I recently moved to the east 40's. I used to live on the upper east side and ordered from the pizza place Delizia a few times per week. For my money Delizia makes the best chicken parm and chicken parm hero that you will find in NYC.
I've tried a few places in my new 'hood, but nothing compares. I'm going through withdrawal, so please help me out with suggestions for a tasty and reasonably priced chicken parm on the east side from 47th down to 37th.
Thanks all.

I got ya covered dont worry. The best chic parm hero in the hood is definitely Imperial on 3rd and 35th. I have tried many chic parm heros in the last 10 years in this neighborhood. The bread comes crispy, the cheese is not attached to the tin foil and there is a ton of nicely fried chicken.

I can't help with your chicken parm, but what else did you like at Delizia? One of the owners of our nearby hardware store really likes it, and I've not yet been. I believe they are seeing a slowdown in traffic b/c of the subway construction, and would like to try it out some day.

re: MMRuth
Honestly, everything at Delizia is great. I've been to both locations -- the 74th Street and the other one uptown -- many many times and am never disappointed. I've honestly never had a bad meal. It's good for takeout or to eat there, though I would sit in the front, not worth the extra $$ to sit in the formal dining room.
Aside from the chicken parm, try the chicken pizzaiola, or the marsala. The spaghetti sauce is just a little sweet, which is delicious, and the garlic bread they give you is great. I'm not saying this place deserves a 25 on zagat, but for a pizza place, you won't get much better.

re: ML152
While I haven't had the chicken parm at Campanile, the food I've had there has been uniformly excellent. Portions are very generous. The chicken parm is $19.95. I can't imagine they would not be willing to do take-out if you're willing to pick it up.
I've never been to Bella Luna, but I recall some positive comments from Hounds who have tried it. It's in your geographical area, and they deliver. Acc. to their take-out menu on MenuPages, chicken parm is $12.95 and comes with a side of spaghetti, salad and bread.

re: FoodieFemme
Foodie Femme,
I was thnking the same thing. Its not what you think of when you think Palm, but it is excellent, though perhaps inappropriate for this thread. Who knows maybe ML152 will want to celebrate something someday - BTW, I am a Palm Too person.
ML152 -Lenny's will deliver to you, but it is, at best, just passable when you need your parm hero fix. You should move to westchester or the bronx.

If you're willing to venture farther south of 37th Street,
Campanile on E. 29 between Park/Madison:http://www.campanilenyc.com/menu.htm
Coppolas East on Third Avenue @ 27th Street. Although
Coppolas gets uniformly bad press on Chowhound, it has one of
the best Chicken Pamigiana in the city and this is its saving grace
