pio pio 34th street: what the heck?
we got take-out from the new-ish 34th street location last night for the first and last time. it was terrible. the avocado salad had maybe a quarter of an avocado and some unripe (we're talking pale pink/white) tomato slices over what seemed like the core of a head of iceberg lettuce, and the dressing was food-service "italian" instead of the usual spicy kind. the rice was clumpy and soft, while the beans were so salty that they were inedible. and the chicken? also hideously salty and very mushy with flabby skin. even the green sauce was bad. i'm a fan of the queens locations, but if our meal was any indication then this new branch has a serious problem.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. We ate at the 34th St. Pio Pio once not long after they opened, which was a while ago. The avocado salad contained an entire avocado and though tomatoes were far from the best, the tasty green sauce perked it all up. The chicken was moist with a crispy skin, and the potatoes were fine.
