Many thanks to you all!! Have to go with a white Tom from Bolton's Turkey Farm in Silverdale for Thanksgiving but I know a fieldtrip to Griggstown is in my near future. Maybe for Christmas . . .?

I hope you've called ahead for your turkey. I do believe they sell out every year. The place is a mad house the Wed before Thanksgiving, they have fire-police directing traffic in and out. I've cooked maybe three turkeys in my life, and haven't had one of theirs yet. But a lot of people swear by them.

In East Windor, NJ is Lee's Turkey Farm. We've had turkeys from them a few times and they are delicous. They are located a few miles off of Route 130. You can take 95/295 and get off at 130 North. They also have great pies and other product items.

I haven't been to Griggstown Farm, but am dying to go there. They also have a website; you can google for it.

          Bigley9:
Have you tried the chicken pot pies from Griggstown? I saw them on the website and CPP are a favorite item of mine. That's one item I want to try.

I have - I really like them (they also have beef which I don't like so much). They have 2 different sizes, small was good for 2 - except I wished I had some leftover for lunch! The Fair food farmstand in the Reading Terminal Market also carries their pies if that is more convenient for you.

Bigley9: Thanks for the reply. Some friends Princeton also rave about the Twin Hens chicken pot pies and their beef pot pie. They say they will never make another pot pie, since these are so good. Here's a link, they sell at different stores in PA and NJ

Depends on where you are in Bucks Co - but Griggstown Quali farm has red bourbon heritage turkeys you can pick up at the farm (near Princeton) , at the Headhouse Farmers Market in Phila or order through the Fair Food Farmstand in the Reading Terminal Market

Not sure what you mean by "heritage" but there's a great turkey farm in Silverdale that raises and sells "organic" turkeys - Bolton's.
