what are your thoughts? and is it still open after the passing of it's owner, the eponymous jay.

always wanted to try it for the better part of a decade but never got around to it.

I eat there all the time - and Jay's partner Michael took over about a year ago or maybe longer. Jay had been very sick for some time. It's the same as always, same chef, same waiters, same bartenders - some for decades.

According to the L.A. Times, the co-owner will continue to run it. And as someone who lives on the opposite side of town - ask me if I care (annoyed that Mitch Mitchell's obit in the Times was relegated to second tier after Jay's)...
