Free wi-fi around Chandler?

ziggylu Nov 13, 2008 11:47 AM

Progress on one of my research papers is not going as well as I would like since I'm too easily distracted at home. Not one to sit in the quiet of a library for hours am thikning I need to venture out and sit somewhere with a coffee or a glass of wine and a nibble and get some work done on this. Somewhere I can comfortably sit in the late morning or the afternoon and not bother anyone.

I know we had a thread last year on wi-fi but most places were in Phoenix. Would prefer to stay close to home here in Chandler or nearby environs(South Tempe, the eastern part of Ahwatukee, western part of Gilbert for instance).

Bonus points for anywhere I can ride my bike to from Ray and Dobson!

Thanks, azhotdish. I didn't realize Coffee Rush had wifi, we sit outside whenever we've been there.

Anyone have any ideas on anything besides a coffee shop where i might be able to grab some lunch and work?

      Thanks again!

Coffee Works is another one I missed.

        This might help.

Sadly Coffee works went out of business 2 or 3 years ago. They had fantastic croissants!

          Thanks for the link!

Shows how rarely I get to Chandler. Not that you'd really want to hang out there for a long time, but Lee's Sandwiches has free wifi.

The AJ's in S. Chandler has free wifi, perhaps the Ray Rd. location does as well. And in that vein, maybe the new Whole Foods?

I'll keep an eye out and report back...

I don't think the one on Ray does since it has no inside seating but I work in that Plaza so I'll have to go down and check.

Haven't noticed if WF does, but I'll have to check that out. Not only is that a quick bike ride but it doesn't involve having to cross any of the major streets since it's in my block. That's triple points! I"ve never noticed anyone there on their computer though.(I hate the intersection at Dobson/Ray and avoid it all costs when on my bike....I go really out of my way whenever I take my bike to Sprouts or Pita Jungle even though I'm right across the street!)

In that same plaza as WF is a Paradise....I wonder if they have Wi-Fi? I've only been in there once and didn't think to ask.

Both the Whole Foods and Paradise Bakery on Ray have free wifi. Also try Penny's Ice Cream on Ray & Dobson or the Maui Wowie juice place on Ray and Federal (across from the Toyota Financial building).

Wildflower Bread Co. offers free wi-fi at all locations I believe.

The CoffeeBuzz serves breakfast and lunch, great coffees (possibly the best in the Valley) and free WiFi. Many outlets, tables and very friendly staff.

The Lollicup on Alma School and Warner has wifi (and there are computers there as well for public use).
