2nd Avenue Deli is on 33rd between Lex and Third. It's not as good as it was when it was downtown, but it's still worth going to. (Be warned, they serve no dairy).

As in Jewish Deli, or Italian Deli? Todaro Brothers is nearby, as, I believe is Sarge's, though I've not been there. Maybe also 2nd Avenue Deli?

oy, Murray Hill isn't exactly a culinary mecca ;)

Sarge's is meh. i'd also suggest avoiding Mendy's on 34th - it's pretty bad.

i can't vouch for 2nd Ave Deli now that it's in the new location, but it's probably the best bet.

I prefer Sarge's to Second Ave. Deli. Pastrami is much better at Sarge's! Second Ave. Deli is way too cramped and rushed. Sarge's has great noodle pudding and chopped liver.

From my experience, 2nd Ave Deli is definitely not a better bet than Sarge's, especially as it pertains to pastrami. The pastrami at Sarge's is about the equal of Katz's -- though different in style -- while the pastrami I had at 2nd Ave. Deli was dry even after I specifically ordered it "very fatty."
