Dinner, Sunday 11/16 near DC Convention Center

I'm trying to find a restaurant near the DC Convention Center for the members of my lab who are attending the Society for Neuroscience meeting to have dinner at Sunday night. I've been asked to find a place that is interesting (the attendees who are in search of a meal are from Nashville, TN) and around $40/50 a head.

As I don't know DC at all (nor am I attending the conference that brings my colleagues to DC), any guidance is welcome.

Thanks - this should be enough to go on.

There are a lot of options in that area for that price range. My top choices would be Acadiana, Cafe Atlantico, or Jaleo. All offer something different than what they might be able to get on a regular basis in Nashville.

$40 or $50 should include what? Drinks? Tax? Tip?

Corduroy is at the high end of the range, but is by far the best restaurant in the area, and it's right across the street from the Convention Center!

Corduroy is fabulous but according to their web site - not open on Sundays.

They'll be near the Penn Quarter/Chinatown neighborhood that's chock-full of restaurants, many are on the loud and hip/trendy side, but still many with good food. I'll suggest Zaytinya, seems to fit what you're asking for.

I bet you'll get lots more suggestions, but also try a search for Penn Quarter and Chinatown. (Don't send them to Matchbox, even though it comes up here all the time, they can find places like that in Nashville.) Does the $40/$50 include drinks etc?

Acadiana is right across the street. http://www.acadianarestaurant.com/. New Orleans style, decent atmosphere, good drinks, if a ittle loud, but maybe not on a Sunday.
Brasserie Beck is 3 blocks away. http://www.beckdc.com/ Mussels, Belgian beer, inventive, hip, though not cheap, cooking.
Also, Zaytinya, Small plates, pretty space. http://www.zaytinya.com/
