Mamma's Baccala: first taste of the season...

gutreactions Nov 13, 2008 05:53 AM

Dropped in to Mamma Francesca in New Rochelle last night and enjoyed a blackboard special of traditional Baccala di Pomodoro with olives, onions and herbs...it was a precursor to the coming holiday season for sure and quite satisfying.
Also noticed Mamma's Fixed Price Dinners are back too as a clip on to the menu...available every day: 3-courses with sides for $23.

Excellent. Very good food and a true bargain.

    Thanks for the update, gutreactions.

Baccala, really? Blech! I can still see it, floating in my mother's sink, rehydrating.................. :O)

dolores, I know a lot of people feel that way about 'lowly' Baccala, but I enjoy a good taste of the traditional from every culture from time to time...(by the way, he had Tripe on the blackboard too.)
