Where to buy Puy Lentils (french green lentils) in MSP?

cherrylime Nov 12, 2008 07:12 PM

That's what I'm wondering..I've been all over and everytime I ask they say "we don't have them right now"..I'm beginning to suspect they don't have them at all. I'm ready to order them online but thought I'd give it a whirl here?

TBS Mart, the Indian market at 494 & Portland Ave, has many kinds of lentils, including green. And you probably won't find a better price anywhere.

thanks everyone! I hadn't made it out to buy lentils yet because of a broken foot! Now I'll have lots of great options!

I bought some today at the Mississippi Market. Selby and Dale.

any of the co-ops (bulk sections) should be able to hook you up (cheaper than the grocery store). they are a staple.

oh dear-- Cherrylime! have you left for WFM yet? if you haven't, i meant that the food *co-ops*: mississippi market, in st paul, or the wedge, seward, eastside, etc. in minneapolis, will have the lentils for sure, but that WFM is more likely to run out. . . hope i caught you in time

The Wedge usually has 'em. In fact, I almost bought some last week. Surdyk's sometimes carries them, but that's iffy. Go to the Wedge.

I have some right now but can't remember where I got them! I feel like it was Holy Land or Bill's Imported Foods. Almost certainly the Holy Land.

Anne, I actually meant the Wedge! My daughter lived 2 blocks from the Wedge, but used to work at Whole Foods so it was a freudian slip. I love the Wedge! My daughter lives in Seattle now. We really miss the TC :(

I've certainly purchased them at Whole Foods.
