We're taking a Carnival cruise that will hit Cozumel, Belize City, Roatan Island and Freeport.

Any Chow-worthy places to eat? Or specific dishes?

Thanks in advance.

We will be staying in Roatan in the West Bay.
I have been wondering the same.

    Have a great trip.

We took a similiar cruise 3 years ago. Unless Roatan is more developed- there is nothing there. We went to Tabayanna Beach there and they have a BBQ buffet- nothing to write home about. We didn't have time to try any restaurants in Beliz- but it is an English speaking country. In Cozumel. we had lunch at a Mexican restaurant- don't remember the name- it was crowded, touristy, but again, nothing to write home about. The Mexican food is different there (especially the cheese) than what we are used to in the states. At least we didn't get sick :)

What a diverse itinerary. Sounds like a dive oriented itinerary aside from the armpit of the Bahamas, Freeport. In Freeport ask a local taxi driver or someone local where to eat cracked conch or conch salad. That is a local favorite. My friend lives in Utila near Roatan and does not seem to find any major culinary influences. Focus on snorkeling or diving vs dining IMHO.

In regards to Roatan, that was what I suspected.
I suppose I have visions of fish being cooked right off the beach that I hand selected from a near by fisherman... : )
          That would work for me.

In Cozumel we ate at a very good Mexican restaurant. When you get off the ship to take a taxi to the shopping area all the taxis want to take you to the same place at the top of the main drag. The restaurant is in there. There is another one down the street but it IS very touristy and okay for a drink but it made me think of TGI Fridays.
