Ollie's Noodle Shop vs. Ollie's Szechuan
We used to go to the old Ollie's down the street from Carmines just off Times Square - but they closed. Are both of these locations (200B W 44th and 411 W 42nd) still open? Does the Szechuan one have some of the same food as the Noodle Shop (like scallion pancakes, hot and sour soup, soup dumplings/juicy buns)? Which would you prefer?
Ollie's SIchuan has all the Noodle Shop standards, but it's strengths really lie in the Sichuan part of the menu. If you like that cuisine, definitely go to the 42nd St. location.
do call ahead to make sure it's still open, though. for some reason i'm having a hard time finding a web presence for the place.
