Is the dreaded post-lag back?

Ruth Lafler Nov 12, 2008 02:03 PM

Several times today I've clicked on a thread that had a new message symbol and a new message author name, but when the thread came up all the posts were collapsed and there wasn't one by the new author. When I hit refresh, the posts expand but there still isn't a new one.

and may I add that the improper page refreshing is back. You're on page 1 of hotposts, showing there are 1-50, read a post, and bam, your new hotpost page shows the latest 1-3 posts or no new posts! Didn't mean to hijack, but are probs related? Can start a new thread if necessary.

Still experiencing both problems in IE but only the post lag in Firefox.

Sounds like it's been reported and is "high priority":

The no show post by the latest poster happened to me just now.

Also, I've noticed that another old lag problem has been rearing its annoying head. For the past couple of days, after I post a reply, the thread doesn't immediately jump to the top when I refresh the page.

The post lag is still there. I'm trying to see the last reply (no. 6) on a thread. It says it was posted 18 minutes ago and still isn't showing up.

I got the post lag for the first time today. Timed it at 14 minutes for the post to show up.
