Panna cotta

I just discovered my new favorite dessert over the weekend at an Italian dinner--panna cotta! Any suggestions of where to get some good versions in the Boston metro area, particularly around Newton?

i just had a delicious panna cotta at Erbaluce. Via Matta's is also very good.

OMG it's my favorite dessert too! I had a wonderful one at Lucca in the North End. I love the texture it just slides down your throat.

Try Athan's Bakery in Washington SQ. Brookline...not half bad

Za, also in Arlington, often has it in some version or other and it's always good. I suspect their related restaurant EVOO would also have a good version.

I order panna cotta whenever it's on a menu, as it's my favorite dessert. Not sure about Newton area, but my favorites are at Via Matta (served in a glass with layers of fruit), and Avila, served more traditionally with fruit compote. I slightly prefer Avila's version, but I've rarely had a bad one! The version at Hungrey Mother in Cambridge is also quite good!
