Need help with celebratory dinner!!

  • 7

I want to have a special celebratory dinner with a close friend this weekend. The menu must have some vegetarian options for my friend. My budget is approximately $200 -250 with wine and dessert for both of us. I have reviewed quite a few places but the vegetarian options are severely lacking. The place can be located anywhere between and including Santa Monica to Los Feliz and as far south as Culver City. Thank you in advance for any recommendations.

  1. Does your friend eat fish or no meat what so ever? Providence is terrific, but I'm not sure about their vegetarian options. Anisette is good too. My friend, who is a vegetarian, had a wonderful meal at Bastide.

No meat or fish. I was looking at Providence, but vegetarian options are very limited based on the menu. I will check out Anisette and Bastide menus. Thank you!

Also check out Joe's Restaurant in Venice as they have a vegetarian menu and La Cachette in Century City that has a vegan menu.

    2. Hatfield's is always a wonderful time and I am sure that the kitchen would prepare an excellent meal for your friend. I have always come home and smiled for at least 48 hours after every dinner here.

Josie has their Farmers Market Prix Fixe tonight. They used to do a veggie option. I think it's only $35 for 3 course-Leaves lots of budget for one of their great cocktails and some wine and an extra appetizer to share.
Some other ideas also below. Good luck, report back to us!

        1. Hi elhcpa,

You might consider Michael Mina's XIV restaurant. Just opened recently and they have a full Vegetarian Tasting Menu (customizable) mirroring the "carnivore" version. :) I thought they had some good dishes and some misses as well. Here's some CH feedback and photos I took in this CH thread:
