Richmond - Edo Squid or Mama Zu

My wife & I were going to try one of these two tonight. Have heard and read about both, never been to either. Am leaning toward Edo as I understand they take reservations.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated on the restaurant as well as parking.

I like the atmosphere at Mama Zu much better than Edo, but if you go too late there will be a wait. The food is pretty much the same at both places. Parking in oregon hill is easier than VCU area, in my opinion.

Edo's takes reservations (I don't find it to be a loose term at all) and credit cards. Parking can be a challenge, but there is a $5 parking lot on Grace just east of Harrison and if we can't find anything, we'll park there.

Love Edo's, but I haven't tried Mama Zu to compare. I do know from experience that "reservations" is a term used loosely at Edo's. They don't necessarily hold a table for you if they get busy, but it shouldn't be a problem on a Wednesday.
