Where to buy dried fava beans?

I only found dried fava beans in bulk section at Ambrosia last week. However, the size of the fava beans in stock is only half of the normal size.

(Suppliers near Steeles/Bayview area are preferred.)

If you're looking for the large dried favas then they're everywhere, loblaws, no frills. The issue with them that I found is a lot of them just don't cook (and it's not that I don't know how to cook them but they're just bad or stale) I soak them and pressure cook them and some will totally melt while others remain rock hard, that's a bad batch. I hope you find a good one, try highland farms too or something.

I bought some years ago at The Bulk Barn. We never got around to using them and we tossed them after a few years, but if someone has some details on how long to soak and cook, I'd give a new batch a shot.

Greek House Market on the Danforth or the Big Carrot on the Danforth both have dried fava beans. I would think that at least some of the Persian Stores near Yonge and Steeles would also sell dried favas.

Thanks! Both Greek House Market on the Danforth and the Big Carrot on the Danforth do not have dried fava beans - I just called.

What I'm looking for is dried large unpeeled fava beans. Super Khorak (Iranian supermarket @ 6125 Yonge St) near Yonge/Steeles has dried peeled split fava beans sold in bags. However, what I'm looking for is dried large unpeeled fava beans. Not sure whether other Persion stores near Yonge/Steeles have them. I'll post here if I see them.

Best selection that I've seen is at Dominion Foods at St. Lawrence market. I know that's not in your 'hood but it's got the giant beans and five other varieties.

Thanks! I just called Dominion (80 Front St E) at St. Lawrence market and they do have dried large unpeeled fava beans @ $1.99/lb.

I also called Domino's Foods Ltd. within St. Lawrence. It also has dried large unpeeled fava beans @ $1.99/lb.
