Looking for unique restaurant that's $100 for two
Hi, I'm looking for a restaurant for about $100-$120 for two people, for me and a friend from out of town. My criteria (in order) are: 1) quality, 2) unique/inventive food, 3) unique to California/an LA experience, 4) vegetarian friendly (my friend's a vegetarian), 5) lively atmosphere, 6) decor befitting a special occasion. What's the best restaurant in the LA area that fits?

depending on whether or not you drink a lot, you could do Palate Food and wine for that amount. But even with a glass or two of wine, you'd probably come in on budget.
The food is excellent. So is the atmosphere.
