Kansas city- Bluestem Dress code

michaelstl Nov 11, 2008 08:01 AM

I have a dinner scheduled at Bluestem in a few weeks and I was wondering what the typical dress is at Bluestem. I know the restaurant presents both a casual and a high class sort of atmosphere so I was wondering what would be appropriate for the main dining room. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen everything from jeans to suits.

I would say jacket, no tie necessary, and you'll feel right at home. Always better to be a little better dressed than a little underdressed.

I would agree with that standard, but I was hoping to be able to dress more casually as I know it is going to be a long dinner. I also hate having to pack a suit/jacket.

My wife and I were there last night, in the lounge. I wore business casual and felt right at home. I've worn basically the same thing in the dining room. i wouldn't worry about a jacket, just be comfortable and enjoy.

Jeans and a button up would be fine. Khakis and a button up, even better. That is the beauty of Kansas City, we're more interested in the good food than in what you're wearing. Enjoy your time here!
