consider Sosa Borella...very reasonable Argentine Italian...

i've never eaten at Pepolino, as the one time i tried to go there, we were kept waiting over 40 minutes for a table, and during that that time standing around we got to watch them re-using bread...we walked out...

        Try MAX's
        181 Duane St. Manhattan, NY 10013Phone: 212-966-5939 www.max-ny.com

Great Italian local spot, best lasagna and good prices!

That's a good suggestion. Not as good as Pepolino, IMHO, but nice cozy room and far more affordable.

          Malatesta Trattoria
          649 Washington St.

My fave low key italian in the neighborhood.

Malatesta is in the West Village.

            Pepolino is ok. Reasonable prices.

I'm sorry to say, but the food at malatesta is sub-par in my opinion
