Kabob Bazaar...what's good?

  • 9

I love Persian food (especially the stews/khoreshes) and was wondering if there was anything really outstanding to get there aside from kabobs (which I've tried and haven't been impressed by.

i've only been once, but the kubideh was spot on and the baqala polo (rice with dill and fava beans) was also quite good. A little heavy on the butter with the rice though. its a bit of a trip for me to get out there.

Try Pars in Fairfax. They have a really great persian buffet on the weekends and it's ALL good...

I thought Pars closed down, no? Or maybe they changed their name, but the last time I checked it was closed. It was reallly good though.

so is pars open or closed, anyone? i'd love to try it, if it is indeed open.

where was it located, please? oh here, i found this info: Pars, 10801 Lee Hwy; 703-273-3508. from this undated source about fairfax restos: http://www.washingtonian.com/articles...

There's something else in the location formerly occupied by Pars. I don't know what it is, but it isn't Pars. I guess that means "closed."

thanks for the (bad) news. ;-(

but you know, in searching for the pars name in fairfax, i saw some reference to a pars kabob in fair oaks mall:

                Pars Kabob Express
                11750L Fair Oaks Mall
                Fairfax, VA 22033
                (703) 352-9119 (i haven't called this # to see if they're open anymore....)

maybe these are the same people?

          2. re: DCDOLL

Does anyone know of any other Persian buffets? I went to the Caravan Grill once in DC, but it closed down :(

      2. I love their zereshk (sp), the saffron rice with barberries.
