New Year's Dinner in Rome
A freind asked me to post the following...
"My husband and I will be in Rome on New Year's eve and would like to find a restaurant similar to one we ate at 12 years ago.
We spent that New Year's eve at a small, very Roman restaurant, Paris, in the Trastevere and then walked back to our hotel after midnight. We'll be staying in an apartment near Piazza Venezia, so we're centrally located. We'd still like a walk (of no more than an hour) back to the apartment after dinner.
While we can afford an expensive meal, that's not necessarily what we are looking for. We would prefer a small, quiet trattoria or enoteche, old or new approaches to Roman food, and great service.
We don't need a menu; our Italian is good enough.
Suggestions? (We just turned 60, and we've spent a fair amount time in Italy, but this will be only our second trip to Rome.)"
Thanks for any help!
Paris is still there and within an hour's walk of Piazza Venezia, more like half an hour.

I believe they wish to try something new.
Any further thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
