Christmas Eve Italian?

Hi - We are looking for a moderately priced Italian choice for a party of 8 that is open Xmas Eve. We tried Malatesta, DaAndrea & Piccolo Angelo, but all are closed. Something of that ilk would be ideal - fairly casual, moderate prices & outstanding food. Hopefully in or near the Village.

I probably should have realized a lot of Italians close down for Christmas eve. So, I'm opening up the options. Thing is, we have several elders with us who don't really like Asian or Indian options and such, hence the safe Italian choice. So, I think something that leans creative American could work too. Any other ideas? I'm definitely considering Ennio & Michaels, though I haven't heard much about it and always leapt to the conclusion that the odd strip of restauraunts right are lame. Perhaps one can't judge a book by it's cover.

Try Little Italy restaurants, SOMETHING will be open!

Last year my wife and I dined at Lupa on Xmas Eve--it was very good. We did not have the feast of seven(?) fishes because the diners next to us warned us that is was not very good. We ordered off the regular menu and were very pleased.

Ennio and Michael's , the Ennio pasta is delicious, the baked clams are the best, high quality meat, real italian cooking
