Thanks for the recs- had completely forgotten about the Senator, and I hadn't heard about Yassi's Place.
I googled Yassi's Place and found that it's located at 299 Wallace Ave in TO. Is there anything else you'd recommend on their menu? I noticed they are listed one of the places in town serving St. John's Bread: http://www.stjohnsbakery.com/SJBCafes...

re: phoenikia
I actually haven't been for a while. It's a real granola neighborhood community kind of place with the cook Yassi and her friends running the kitchen. It's very kitsch with vintage and salvaged furniture and salt/pepper shakers. It's funky but definately nowhere near high end just to warn you. Good quality organic ingredients used in all the offerrings. I always have gotten the eggs benny. The hollendaise is nice. The homefries are typically really unique and tasty too. They have a nice secret spice blend to them cumin etc. Their grilled cheese is fantastic though. Try it Phoenikia and let me know what you think?
