If you really want to stay in Sherman Oaks and don't want to venture up to Sherman Way to all the great Thai places near Coldwater Canyon then try these two places. They are near each other and very good.

Anajak Thai. It's at Cedros and Ventura Blvd.
    14704 Ventura Blvd

    Lannathai
4457 Van Nuys Boulevard at Moorpark St
    Sherman Oaks, CA. 91405

I used to love both Lannathai and Anajak... I have to say Siam Cabin on Ventura beats both. If its a special date go to Asanebo and have amakase menu. SOoooooo good.

Not for a date (it's a bit of a hole in the wall) but it is our favorite of all the places on Sherman way of coldwater :
        Swan
Their Nam Kao Tod (golden rice with spicy pork), Cry Tiger, Plah Goong (spicy shrimp salad), egg noodles with pork (and garlic) and many other dishes are quite excellent.
I would agree for a date Asanebo would be nice for a date.

For a date definately Siam Cabin. Much nicer interior than both and better food than both.
