Went there for lunch yesterday and was greeted by a sign posted on the door saying the restaurant had closed. There was construction going on, and it will be a BBQ place, name unknown to me.

Wow, that's a bummer. The location was lethal and I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did. Will miss the burger and the soft-shell crab, especially. Bye Chef (and Patrick)!

That sucks. I hope they'll resurface somewhere else.

Me too, Granted even though I liked it I'm egregiously guilty of not visiting often enough. Thank you for the heads up, so when the hunger pang for their Wimpy Burger strikes I won't drop by their for no reason.

I am truly devastated by this news! I just found out the terrible news today.

          Sign posted outside the door:

          "Dear Customers,

We have decided to close this wonderful restaurant.

We’ve very much enjoyed serving you in the past.

          Thank you for your patronage.

If you have a message, please send to gorikee@gmail.com

          GORIKEE"

I definitely will drop a line to Chef and Pat and thanking them for all the great meals I've enjoyed there and wishing them the best and hoping they resurface again when economics improve...

            Aiyaaaa!
It was great to have this place in our neighborhood while it lasted.
Chef and Pat (and everyone else there) and the quality of the food (sauces, soups, wimpy burger) always made it a great choice for eating.
But I too have been delinquent in going there ..... frequented it much more regularly earlier on. I agree with creamfinger - I think I would have been lured back more frequently if there weer more "specials" or changes in the menu.
Gorikee and Snapper Jon's .... RIP.

That's really too bad. Every now and then I'd get a serious jones for their Wimpy burger, but aside from that, their menu never changed. I stopped going long ago out of boredom.

Don't forget that it was Big Al's BBQ before Gorikee took it over.
But that corner location is lethal, as I am sure the new operator will find out in fairly short notice, unless he has a product that is world-beating!
