A lot of people love the China Buffet in Salem NH - I personally don't enjoy buffets as a rule but they do keep it very fresh and there are many nice choices (not you typical buffet) - almost on the Metheun line on 28.

For an elegant but average-price Americanized Chinese restaurant with excellent food, try Chen Yang Li, off 293, at exit 3, in Woodbury Court, which is the small strip directly across the street from Macy's/Wayfarer Hotel. It is literally visible from 293. Love the Sunkist Scallops and Walnuts and the Two Brothers Special Shrimp, with a creamy sauce I cannot identify or duplicate.

Forgot about CYL--it's very good too. The Peking duck is delicious.

The only great Chinese restaurant I know is off Rte 3 Exit 27 in Billerica--Sichuan Gourmet

Is Sichuan Gourmet mmediately off the exit, whs? Some years ago when I worked at Merrimack College, people swore by a place in a stripmall on 114, though I can't remember the name. Not China Blossom or anything near 125/133. This is hearsay; I haven't tried it.

I do not know if there is a sit-down portion, but I had good duck take-out delivered from Wah Sang in Methuen (just off Rt 28).

The place on Rte. 114 might have been Jasmine Restaurant which was very good the few times I went. I have not been in quite a while though or know if it is still around.

For bowls of Pho, try T & N Restaurant on S. Broadway (Rte. 28) in Lawrence.
For Korean I like Hee Bin on S. Union Street in Lawrence close to the Andover line.

I had gone to Jasmine several times, as well and very good. but haven't been in a while too.

If you venture into downtown lowell, we enjoy a new place called Etsogo (some nice malaysian dishes)

It's closer to the center of Billerica, in a little strip mall next to the one with Market Basket and KMart. If you like spicy, authentic Szechuan, this is nirvana.
