MSP: Spaghetti Carbonara?

mtullius Nov 6, 2008 01:18 PM

My wife is craving spaghetti ala carbonara. We haven't seen this on the menu at very many places here-- it's definitely lacking at most of the "Italian-American" spots. Anyone else love this dish and have a favorite spot? We live in St. Paul, but would be willing to travel occasionally to get a fix...

Last time I went to Ristorante Luci (NOT Ancora) they had an amazing version.

It was at least a year ago......so YMMV

It is on the online menu at The Craftsman. I haven't had it, but I've liked the pasta I've had there every time I've tried it.

I moved away about 4 years ago, but I used to really like the carbonara at the Loring Pasta Bar in Dinkytown. Haven't been back to visit since moving, so I don't know if it's still on the menu.

Spaghetti Carbonara is one of the offerings for the Broder's Pasta Bar "After Eight" special. Sunday-Thursday after 8pm, get two pasta dishes, an olive appetizer, a seasonal salad for two and a half bottle of wine for $26.

          Carbonara and a cheap date!!
