Angelini Osteria - What to get??
I'm heading over to Angelini Osteria tomorrow for dinner. Read a couple treads on CH but wanted to get more updated recommendations :) I don't like cheese and artichokes but eat pretty much anything else. Does anyone know if they still serve uni pasta? Thanks!
I think a dining companion once got the branzino, served tableside, and it was incredibly good.
But whenever I go to Angelini Osteria (which is not nearly often enough!) I can never go past ordering my hands-down fave lasagne EVER -- Nonna's Lasagne Verdi.
Truly sensational. Two types of meat in the ragu (forget which, veal and ?)
I always ask them to suggest a glass of red wine to go with it and they always rec one from a particular region that the dish is also from. Heaven!
jeez - I think it's high time for a return visit to my fave Italian place in LA... details too fuzzy!
I also remember their burrata e pomodoro salad is exquisite. You can get that practically anywhere, but theirs is quite sublime.
But there's only one place in LA (and possibly the world!) to sample Nonna's Lasagne Verdi!
Bombolotti all' Amatriciana. Best pasta dish ever! I like the affogato di gelato (icecream drowned in espresso) for dessert. I've seen a lot of people on this board recommend the lasagna verde and whole branzino...I thought those dishes were pretty good but they didn't blow me away. The branzino had a wonderful moist texture but was pretty bland. The lasagna verde was solid but not revelatory.
