Any Good SF Restaurant Podcasts/Websites?

First Post! Great to be here!

I have recently moved here from Australia and I am about to start a job serving restaurants and catering institutions in the Bay Area.

I am looking for resources that will help me get up to speed with the SF scene.

It may be a stretch but are there any food related podcasts that are worth listening to?

In addition, are there any indispensible websites (other than Chowhound of course!) that I should be checking out?

I look forward to being part of this vibrant online community!

Thank you.

  1. Welcome to the US and Chowhound.

This will probably get moved to the "News and Media" board where this type of topic gets discussed.

For better or worse, the SF Chronicle is a good resource. While theres a lot of pros and cons, there's still alot there. I like the Inside scoop column
    http://www.sfgate.com/food/

SF Eater is a good source of what is happening
    http://sf.eater.com/

There is a link to a NY Times article about Yelp which SF Eater quotes and pretty much sums up yelp ... " 'You know you're addicted to Yelp when...' The answers included: '...when you go to a restaurant for the sole purpose of adding to your review count, not because you're hungry,' '.

There is a lot of drek and misleading info there and as the NY times mentions ... payola. That being said, if you really dig there are a few nuggets there, but it takes alot of mining.
