Ultimate Dim Sum in HK!

Hi,

I will be visiting Hong Kong with my girlfriend in a few months. I was looking for some good recommendations for Dim Sum. I don't mind paying the premium for good food, but I would also like some recommendations for places most local people like to eat (good at a reasonable price)

Addresses would help too!

    I vote for a new thread...that one is over two years old and though it has some recent posts, does not have the specific info that is being requested. We need a fresh crop of info in a food scene as vibrant as Hong Kong's anyway.

        Why do u need a fresh crop? Dim sum is dim sum...there is some but not a lot of creativity in terms of dishes. Places at the top of the game 10 yrs ago are still there... I have not found any great new places for dim sum since I have been here...

          I have to agree with Peech. The names mentioned in the previous post are still the best dim sum places out there. There are new ones that are better.

          Just like Katz's pastrami in NYC. I bet you ask 20 years ago, 2 years ago, or 20 years later, the best is still Katz's.

            I too concur with Peech and Kobetobiko! Only significant opening within the past two years is the Chinese restaurant 'Lung King Heen' inside the Fourseasons Hotel on HK side. Some great innovative nouveau Dim Sum ( especially with hairy crab meat and roe, now that the season is here ). However, not enough to justify starting a new thread.based on just this new addition.

              I'm only In hk for a few days this time and the only dim sum place I want to visit again is the restaurant at the four seasons. Hope I can get a table!

                I think I might try out the Lung King Heen restaurant! The menu looks fantastic

                what kind of prices should I assume for dim sum there?

              "there is some but not a lot of creativity in terms of dishes"?! I totally beg to differ. Besides, there is also execution. A list two years old does not capture changes in kitchen personnel, which is of paramount importance in the quality of the dim sum.
