Bored with food IRL vs online

Lately I've found that I have more interest in reading about food online than in actually eating it. I think it's almost like I've become jaded because what is online looks so much more interesting than what I have, I find it's not satisfying me. Budgetary concerns don't allow me to purchase expensive ingredients or dine in the restaurants that I would prefer to. I find myself sometimes eating simply so my blood sugar won't crash and I'm eating for sustinance rather than enjoyment.
Have I put myself into a position similar to other online addictions where the fiction is preferable to the reality?

  1. Sounds like you may indeed be slipping into that category. I think you need to start cultivating a taste for excellent inexpensive cuisines.
