Vegan Spot (Silver Lake), Tantawan (Echo Park) & Green Leaves (Los Feliz)

I believe Tantawan closed on 10/31...at least that what they told me a few weeks
ago, but i haven't been by there since. It's a shame because their food was really good!

BUMMER. They were my standby delivery spot >:(

I like A Taste of Life on Fountain, just west of Vermont.

For casual dining, I love Veggie Grill. 2 locations in Irvine, one in El Segundo.

Veggie Grill is great! It's got that appeal for the non-veg heads...

Yeah, it's awesome. 100% vegan, yet when my friends go there, they have no clue... haha! And they love the place too!

if it's the place i'm thinking of, they serve great sweet potato fries.

Yep, that's the place.

As a NYer who visits family in LA every year, I make several visits to Rahel for their all-you-can-eat lunch special. Spectacular Ethiopian food, and all vegan to boot.

2ndAvenue asked for a 100% vegan restaurant
m cafe is not 100% vegan
nor is the spot
(both of these restaurants, are among my favorites)

It's not 100% vegan -- you are right -- but it is shockingly easy to figure out what's vegan and what's not at M Cafe. If it is a chunk of fish, it is not vegan (and these are stored separately from everything else). Everything else, from the main dishes right on down to the desserts, is vegan... and this being LA, you can just ask and nobody's going to give you weird looks.

i agree completely that it is VERY EASY to have a great, flavorful vegan meal at either of these places.

My Santa Barbara-based vegan sister has come to enjoy LA Vegan when she comes down here to visit. Mostly Thai but some other goodies as well.

Madeleine Bistro in Tarzana, or Rahel on Fairfax. And while not technically a 100% vegan restaurant, it is easy to avoid meat (and they do not serve dairy or refined sugar products) at M Cafe de Chaya in Culver City.

M Cafe (La Brea more crowded and hectic, Culver City more spacious.) The kale in peanut sauce is something I sometimes dream about!

Based on our lunch at the Culver City location, I'll try anything there. It was really good - and that's coming from an omnivore...

I'm not vegan by any means, but I have a friend who is and so I've been to several key vegan joints mentioned in this thread already. But, I have to say that my ultimate favorite vegan joint in LA is Casa De Tree. There are two locations: one in Culver City area and the other in Torrance. They actually have lunch vegan buffets! I highly recommend it.
Pure Luck is pretty good, too...but my vote has to go to Casa De Tree.

Another great one is Stuff I Eat in Inglewood. (www.stuffieat.com). Even my non vegetarian friends crave to go there. They have an awesome key lime pie made from cashews. Delicious!
